If you have a pet, chances are you've spent some time at your local veterinary hospital or clinic. You've seen the veterinarian at work, holding animals, preparing for surgery, doing tests and prescribing medicine, and perhaps you've thought it would be fun to work as a vet someday. But did you know that you don't necessarily have to be a veterinarian to work in a vet hospital? Today most veterinarians rely on help from highly trained assistants known as veterinary technicians.
