Wages vary from minimum wage to as high as $20 per hour. Most demonstrators make between $8 and $13 per hour. This includes the time needed to set up and take down the display.

In some cases, food demonstrators who work in grocery stores must belong to a union. These demonstrators start at union wages, which are about $8 per hour. A demonstrator working for a department store might also be eligible for benefits and pension contributions.
