All the revolutionary engineering in the world is useless without the computer power to instruct all the parts when and how to move. Asimo is equipped with a speed sensor and a gyroscope sensor that continually monitor and correct its body position and the speed at which it is moving. These instruments relay any information on necessary adjustments to the central computer. The computer then instructs Asimo's mechanical structure to make the proper corrective movements to maintain its balance.
