Starting out as a nature photographer, all you need is a camera (and it need not be an expensive one), patience, and an artistic eye. Why patience? In the wild, a lot of animals are shy and timid, especially when humans are nearby. Get ready to spend a lot of time outdoors—in the woods, deep in a swamp, on the peak of a mountain, or on the side of a volcano. The really good news is that first those spots are your classroom, and then they are your office. Nice work if you can get it!
