Salaries for umpires depend on the level of baseball for which they are working. Class A minor league umpires make $1,900–$2,200 per month. Umpires in Class AAA minor leagues make $2,500–$3,400 per month. Major league umpires make up to $280,000 per year. In addition, major league umpires who work in play-off games get $17,500, and those who work the World Series earn $20,000, according to the Wendelstedt Umpire School Web site.
