PICTURE FRAMER

Education And Training

The Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA) advises students to take workshops and classes offered at industry trade shows. These usually last just a few days.

There are framing schools that give basic courses as well. If you're unable to locate a place that offers formal instruction, reading books about picture framing and practicing at home is another option.

In order to gain experience, a novice picture framer might consider finding a part-time job in a picture framing shop or a gallery. Working alongside more experienced framers is an excellent way to observe the craft and learn the finer points of framing.
