Questions to Ask During Interviews

Correct Answer #2: “no, Because I Did My Homework”

If you are genuinely prepared and really do not have any questions, or if you are simply too tired to ask them, this answer is the next best thing. (Just be sure to phrase it in an intelligent way and present it with utmost confidence.) Try this: “Well, I have done a great deal of research before coming to this interview. I know a great deal about the firm, and my research convinced me that your firm is the place where I want to be. So, I really do not have any questions. But do you have any additional questions for me?”

Although interviewers look for good, well-thought-out questions about the firm or their own experience, they are usually very pleased to hear that the interviewee did a great deal of research before the interview. Therefore, this answer usually satisfies them as much as, or almost as much as, good, intelligent questions. Don't worry—they are not going to quiz you, trivia style, about the firm to determine if you are telling the truth. Every single time we dropped this line in interviews, interviewers seemed rather pleased with the answer. And no one ever asked us tricky questions about the firm's size or practice areas to catch us in a lie. In fact, we received glowing reviews and lightening-speed offers from many of the interviewers after giving this exact answer.
