About the Author

Peggy J. Parks holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is a freelance writer who has written a number of books for The Gale Group, including the KidHaven Press Exploring Careers series, the Lucent Books Careers for the 21st Century series, and the Blackbirch Press Giants of Science and Nations in Crisis series. Parks was also the profile writer for the Towery Publications book, Grand Rapids: The City That Works. She lives in Muskegon, Michigan, a town that she says inspires her writing because of its location on the shores of Lake Michigan.
