UNIONS

There are numerous organizations, societies, and unions in the music industry

(see appendix) that are staffed by interns, volunteers, and full and part-time employ-

ees. Each performs a unique service and most sponsor events, seminars, awards pro-

grams, magazines, newsletters, and other functions. These offer invaluable

opportunities to gain experience, knowledge, and contacts for those trying to break

into the industry, through part-time work or volunteering.
