Managing wildland fires is one of the most physically demanding jobs you can have! It is also dirty and grueling (try eighteen or twenty hours a day for as long as six months on end). This career is not for everyone. But if you love being in the woods and are hardworking, brave, and respectful of nature's awe-inspiring beauty and power, you may have what it takes to be a wildland firefighter.
