Help Wanted: Chemistry Technician
Employees prepare and validate samples and solutions used for testing organic and/or inorganic specimens. They calibrate and adjust chemical instruments such as spectrometers, auto analyzers, gas chromatographs, and atomic absorption spectrometers to ensure accurate results. Employees record the data obtained and perform necessary mathematical calculations. Work is supervised by a professional scientist.
An associate's degree in chemistry or nine hours of college chemistry plus related experience is required. Applicants must pass a three-hour written test covering chemical processes, arithmetic calculations, proficiency in reading and interpreting technical materials, and identification of laboratory glassware.
