Salary
The amount of money a tour guide can make varies greatly. Some tour guides are paid a regular salary even when they are not out leading a tour. Other tour guides lead tours only during one particular season and make less money as a result.
In addition to the money they are paid for leading a tour, tour guides often get tips from their customers. Other benefits are that all their expenses are paid while they are leading the tour. Sometimes guides get to travel for free when they go to potential new tour sites.
