As trade shows increase in number and size, jobs as demonstrators are expected to grow faster than most other occupations. One of the features of these shows is the demonstrators who can entice customers to stop by and listen to their talk. Customers like the personal touch they get from demonstrators. Studies have shown that sales go up when demonstrators also sell products. Many companies are putting more of their marketing budget into demonstrations.



Finding the Job

  • Register with demonstrator–market research firms
  • Sign up with a temporary agency
  • Apply at department stores
  • Ask demonstrators how they got their jobs
  • Check newspaper ads
  • Register with the state job service

Employers have trouble finding good people to work in these part-time, short-term positions. Anyone with skills in this area should have no trouble finding work.
