Most weavers sell their work through craft fairs and galleries or from their studios. Jessica Speer doesn't have a store. “Some of my work is in two relatively local galleries, some sells online, some sells by word of mouth, and some hasn't sold yet,” she says. Weavers can also teach, sell weaving supplies, or write books and articles to supplement their incomes.

A few weavers earn large commissions to produce enormous compositions that will hang in public spaces such as hotels, office buildings, airports, or theaters. While some fiber artists even have their work hanging in museums, they are the exceptions.
