Quality Control

An essential part of any biotechnology business is quality control. Quality control analysts test materials and review the results to make sure that the materials meet company, industry, and government standards. Any that do not must be discarded. Quality control engineers develop the procedures used to test and evaluate materials. They may also set the standards that the materials must achieve. These engineers often train other workers on how to use these procedures.

A lot of quality control in biotechnology is laboratory work. As a result, it requires similar skills as those used in research and development. A bachelor's degree is also required.
