ANIMAL PHOTOGRAPHER

Outlook

It's tough to make a living as a professional photographer. It's one of those jobs that almost everyone would love to have, but few have the courage to try and even fewer have the good fortune to succeed. Of course, if you're hired by a wildlife magazine as a staff photographer, you'll never have a shortage of work. But if you work for yourself—freelance—you may find that work comes and goes. Sometimes you'll have more than you can handle, while at other times you'll have none at all. The key to success is sticking with it. With a good deal of persistence and a touch of talent, you'll find life as an animal photographer to be, well, picture perfect.
