The Dental Admission Test (DAT)

Scoring Of The Dat

DAT test scores are determined on the basis of the number of correct answers on your scoring sheet. Thus, there is no penalty for guessing wrong, and you should record an answer to every question rather than leave any blank.

The comparison of raw scores to standard scores is based on distribution of the performances of all those who took the exam. A standard score of 15 is considered average, within the program range of 1 to 30. As with comparable aptitude tests, there is no passing or failing grade. Examinees will receive a copy of their test scores as well as a detailed explanation of their meaning.
