It is a complex and prolonged ordeal that all students must pass through. Doing it right is critical to success. Deadlines need to be met and careful thought and preparation is imperative. It is also a costly process. It is to your advantage to be as well informed as possible. Sources of information, aside from this book, are your advisor, upper-class students, admissions personnel, and alumni.
